Very predictable result when eighth ranked Karesi Spor (11-8) beat at home 15th ranked Ankara D.S.I. (5-14) 84-80. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Karesi Spor made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Alican Guney (194-89, agency: 1x1 Sports) accounted for 8 points and 9 assists for the winning side. Spanish center Xavier Rey (210-87) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Ankara D.S.I. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Karesi Spor moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bandirma Kir. and Bahcesehir. Ankara D.S.I. at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Karesi Spor's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Afyon Bld in Afyonkarahisar and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ankara D.S.I. will play at home against Akhisar Bld (#12) and hope to win that game.
