Regular Season Round 16: Lions - Mustangs 84-101

Another exciting game was played in Dornbirn between third ranked Mustangs and one of their biggest challengers Lions where Mustangs (11-5) beat Lions (10-6) on the road with 17-point difference 101-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lions. The game was mostly controlled by Mustangs. Lions was better in fourth quarter 36-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mustangs players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech guard Michal Semerad (190-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Czech forward Vladimir Sismilich (202-85) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Spanish center Antoni Vicens (204-90) replied with 29 points and guard Luka Brajkovic (206-99) added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Lions. Lions' coach Inaki Merino rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mustangs maintains third position with 11-5 record having four points less than leader Timberwolves. Lions at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Mustangs will play against Flames (#9) in Vienna in the next round where they are favorite. Lions will play on the road against Basket 2K (#11) in Vienna and hope to get back on the winning track.
