Regular Season Round 15: UBT Cluj Napoca - CSU Sibiu 70-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Cluj Napoca. Second-best host UBT Cluj Napoca (10-3) lost to first ranked CSU Sibiu (12-4) 86-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of UBT Cluj Napoca. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 53-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CSU Sibiu forced 20 UBT Cluj Napoca turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Lawrence Kinnard (203-86, college: UAB) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). His fellow American import point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) helped adding 23 points. The best for the losing side was Slovenian Miha Lapornik (194-93) with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian center Adomas Drungilas (203-90) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. CSU Sibiu maintains first place with 12-4 record. Defending champion UBT Cluj Napoca dropped to the third position with three games lost. CSU Sibiu are looking forward to face Pitesti (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. UBT Cluj Napoca will play against Targu Mures and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
