Bottom-ranked Barreirense managed to get a second victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Barreirense won against eleventh-ranked Electrico FC in Barreiro 96-85. The best player for the winners was American forward Demetric Austin (201, college: Dillard) who scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian forward Marko Stevanovic (203-94) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Darius Jones-Gibson (185-94, college: Samford) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Four Electrico FC players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Barreirense maintains twelfth position with 2-13 record. Electrico FC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Barreirense will meet higher ranked CAB Madeira (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Electrico FC will play against Illiabum (#5) and hope to secure a win.
