Regular Season Round 15: Abdullah Gul - Istanbul Univ. 69-63

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Abdullah Gul (9-6) beat 7th ranked Istanbul Uni (1-14) in Kayseri 69-63 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a good game for Serbian point guard Maja Miljkovic (175-88, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 5 assists. Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Abdullah Gul's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Romanian forward Claudia Pop (182-89, agency: ProDep Management) added 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Istanbul Uni. Four Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Abdullah Gul went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Mersin BSB. Istanbul Uni lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. Abdullah Gul will face league's second-placed Besiktas in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul Uni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Galatasaray.
