Regular Season Round 13: Virum - Lemvig 103-67

The game between second ranked Virum (9-4) and 6th ranked Lemvig (1-13) in Virum on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Virum outscored guests from Lemvig 103-67. The game was mostly controlled by Virum. Lemvig managed to win third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lemvig to just 6 points in first quarter. Virum shot 63.1 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Virum especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lemvig's players. The former international guard Frederikke Mollerup (176-95) nailed 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) accounted for 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Lisa Murphy (185-94, college: Carnegie Mellon) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Kaitlyn Mathieu (188-92, college: William & Mary) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lemvig in the defeat. Five Virum and four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-4 record having five points less than leader Horsholm. Lemvig lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Virum will meet league's leader Horsholm on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lemvig will play against Vaerlose (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
