The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Schalke (13-4) on the court of tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by SC Rist Wedel 84-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Schalke. Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and guard Mario Blessing (188-92, college: USC Upstate) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Shawn Gulley (201-93, college: Temple JC) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SC Rist Wedel (7-10) moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with ETB Wohnbau and Oldenburg. Schalke at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. SC Rist Wedel is looking forward to face RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round. Schalke will play at home against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
