Regular Season Round 19: Trier - Koeln Rh.Stars 79-58

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Koeln Rh.Stars (12-7) against eighth ranked Gladiators (10-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Koeln Rh.Stars were crushed by Gladiators in Trier 79-58. Gladiators players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Swingman Lukas Wank (198-97) answered with 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Croatian forward Ante Gospic (203-90, college: Flagler, agency: Duran International) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Koeln Rh.Stars. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hamburg. Koeln Rh.Stars at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Gladiators will play against Baunach (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koeln Rh.Stars will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
