There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Dorsten (4-14) beat at home 8th ranked Herford (8-10) 76-71 on Sunday. Lithuanian swingman Lukas Kazlauskas (188-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 5 assists. Latvian forward Janis Dumburs (198-96) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Dorsten players scored in double figures. American guard Carlbe Ervin-II (190-95, college: Kansas St.) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Herford. Herford's coach William Massenburg tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dorsten maintains tenth place in West with 4-14 record, which they share with Hagen-Haspe. Loser Herford keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Dorsten will face higher ranked Salzkotten (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
