Very expected game in Leverkusen where 8th ranked Bayer Giants (8-9) were defeated by third ranked Iserlohn (12-5) 95-84 on Sunday. Iserlohn made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Bayer Giants outrebounded Iserlohn 47-29 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Iserlohn players scored in double figures. American guard CJ Oldham (203-91, college: Gannon) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and French swingman Ron Mvouika (196-91, college: St.John's) scored 21 points. Bayer Giants' coach Achim Kuczmann let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iserlohn moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Dragons. Loser Bayer Giants dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Iserlohn will face SG Schwelmer Baskets (#5) at home in the next round. Bayer Giants will play against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
