Very expected game in Oliveira where 9th ranked Lusitania (6-11) was rolled over by second ranked Oliveirense (13-4) 100-78. Oliveirense forced 22 Lusitania turnovers. Strangely Lusitania outrebounded Oliveirense 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Lusitania's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Joao Balseiro (192-87) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Serbian power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Coach Norberto Alves's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) added 25 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Oliveirense maintains second place with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Benfica. Lusitania at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Oliveirense's next round opponent will be Ovarense (#6) at home. Lusitania will play against Ovarense (#6) and hope to win that game.
