Everything went according to plan when second ranked ALBA Berlin (14-4) outscored at home 14th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (5-14) 91-71 on Saturday. ALBA Berlin forced 19 Mitteldeutscher BC turnovers. It was a great shooting night for ALBA Berlin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Dennis Clifford (216-92, college: Boston Coll.) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. ALBA Berlin's coach Garcia Aito Reneses used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kruize Pinkins (203-93, college: USF) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for ALBA Berlin. They maintain second place with 14-4 record having just one point less than leader B.Muenchen. Mitteldeutscher BC lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. ALBA Berlin will meet at home Brose Baskets (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Walter Tigers (#18) and hope to secure a win.
