There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Schwabing (6-9) defeated at home higher ranked Vilsbiburg (12-4) 92-75 on Saturday. Schwabing looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Vilsbiburg's players. Chris Wurmseher (192-97) scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Nathan Gibbs (203-89, college: Westmont) chipped in 21 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Schwabing players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kendall Timmons (195-90, college: Tulane) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and British forward Joshua Guddemi (201-94, college: New Haven) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Schwabing moved-up to eighth place in South-East. Loser Vilsbiburg keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Schwabing will face GGZ Baskets (#14) in Zwickau in the next round where they are favorite. Vilsbiburg will play at home against Ansbach (#7) and hope to win that game.
