Regular Season Round 13: Grosbasket - Maribor 75-79

The biggest surprise of round 13 was guest Maribor's (#5) road victory over Grosbasket (#6) 79-75 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Grosbasket won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maribor forced 25 Grosbasket turnovers. Power forward Merisa Dautovic (183-99) fired 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Simona Kuzma (168-87) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Center Teja Gorsic (187-99) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Ana Jakovina (175-97) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Grosbasket players scored in double figures. Maribor maintains fifth place with 6-7 record. Grosbasket lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Maribor are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Domzale (#8) at home in the next round. Grosbasket will play against the league's second-placed Triglav in Kranj and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
