Regular Season Round 15: Neuss - Osnabruecker TB 67-54

Date: January 27, 2018
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Osnabruecker (7-7) lost on the road to second ranked TG Neuss (11-3) 67-54. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. Osnabruecker was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Osnabruecker to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was swingman Franziska Worthmann (178-86, college: Robert Morris) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Xylina McDaniel (188, college: N.Carolina) added 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. TG Neuss have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in North with 11-3 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Freiburg. Osnabruecker at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. TG Neuss' next round opponent will be Braunschweig (#8) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Osnabruecker will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
