Regular Season Round 20: Vilkmerge - Suduva 55-95

LMKL top team - Suduva (15-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Vilkmerge (4-12) in Ukmerge 95-55. The game without a history. Suduva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Vilkmerge's 22 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Suduva looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vilkmerge's players. The winners were led by American guard Stephanie Gardner (170-92, college: ODU) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Ukrainian forward Kateryna Dobrikova (184-89) supported her with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Suduva players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by forward Martyna Petrenaite (181-98) did not help to save the game for Vilkmerge. Kamile Berenyte (185-97) added 19 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suduva have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-2 record. Loser Vilkmerge keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Suduva will meet Fortuna (#5) in the next round. Vilkmerge will play against Kibirkstis in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
