Very predictable result when third ranked Mersin MBK (14-4) won against at home 15th ranked Yalova Vip (3-15) 61-49 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Deniz Boz (172-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) who led the winners and scored 15 points. American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) accounted for 7 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Corinne Costa (193-92, college: UCLA) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Gulnur Akpinar (173-90) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Yalova Vip in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Mersin MBK. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bursa BSB. Yalova Vip lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Ferko Ilgaz. Mersin MBK will meet at home Izmit (#6) in the next round. Yalova Vip will play against Elazig (#9) and hope to secure a win.
