Regular Season Round 15: Barreirense - Terceira 89-73

We should mention about the upset which took place in Barreiro, where higher ranked Terceira (8-10) lost to eleventh ranked Barreirense (3-14) in a road game 73-89 on Saturday. Barreirense made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Barreirense outrebounded Terceira 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) helped adding 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Isaiah Johnson (183-93, college: Young Harris) with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Marqueze Coleman (193-93, college: Nevada) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Barreirense maintains eleventh place with 3-14 record, which they share with Electrico FC. Terceira lost third consecutive game. Terceira at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Barreirense will meet higher ranked Illiabum (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terceira will play against Galitos-Barreiro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
