Eleventh-ranked Goettingen (3-14) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Herner TC (10-6). The visitors from Herne managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch guard Karin Kuijt (174-90) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Courtney Range (190-95, college: California, agency: LBM Management) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and American guard Marissa Janning (173-93, college: Creighton) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Herner TC maintains fourth position with 10-6 record. Goettingen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. Herner TC will play against league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Goettingen will play against TH Wohnbau Angels (#5) in Noerdlingen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
