Regular Season Round 14: Lemvig - Vaerlose 74-65

Bottom-ranked Lemvig managed to get a second victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Wednesday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Vaerlose 74-65. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Lemvig made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lemvig outrebounded Vaerlose 49-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lemvig made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Lisa Murphy (185-94, college: Carnegie Mellon) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The other American import forward Kaitlyn Mathieu (188-92, college: William & Mary) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks. American center Paige Cashin (193-95, college: S.Florida) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Emilie Janner (-99) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Lemvig (2-13) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Vaerlose. Vaerlose lost seventh consecutive game. Lemvig will meet at home league's second-placed Virum in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vaerlose will play against Stevnsgade (#3) and hope to secure a win.
