Regular Season Round 12: Rivne - Dynamo-NPU 87-84

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Rivne. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Dynamo-NPU (7-10) to third ranked Rivne (9-10) 87-84 on Wednesday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Dynamo-NPU won third quarter 29-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rivne made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Rivne outrebounded Dynamo-NPU 37-25 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Dynamo-NPU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Viktoriya Kasatkina (187-92) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and center Tetiana Havrylchyk (196-0) who added 15 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Daryna Dubrovska (190-99) with 39 points (!!!) and Olena Boiko (185-97) scored 21 points and 7 assists. Rivne maintains third position with 9-10 record having eight points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Dynamo-NPU at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Rivne will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dynamo-NPU will play at home against Tavriyska Zirka (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
