Regular Season Round 14: Horsholm - Virum 56-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Horsholm (13-2) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Virum (10-4) 72-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Horsholm. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Virum outrebounded Horsholm 43-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Caitlin Ingle (172-95, college: Drake, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. Guard Sara Pedersen (172-95) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) scored 13 points. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Horsholm. Horsholm at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Virum are looking forward to face Lemvig (#5) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against SISU (#4) in Copenhagen and is hoping to win this game.
