There was no surprise when 5th ranked Vienna (10-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Arkadia Lions (14-5) 88-77 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Reger Dowell (185-91, college: Texas Arlington) who recorded 24 points and the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Arkadia Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Kapfenberg lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Vienna at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Arkadia Lions will have a break next round. Vienna will play on the road against the league's leader Kapfenberg Bulls (#1) and hope to win that game.
