Regular Season Round 20: MBC - Walter Tigers 93-88
Date: February 2, 2018
Rather predictable result in Weissenfels where fourteenth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (6-14) beat bottom-ranked Walter Tigers (1-19) 93-88 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mitteldeutscher BC made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Walter Tigers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Marcus Hatten (185-80, college: St.John's) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) chipped in 19 points. Forward Reggie Upshaw (203-95, college: Middle Tenn.St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Malcolm Lee (196-90, college: UCLA) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Five Mitteldeutscher BC and four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC maintains fourteenth position with 6-14 record. Walter Tigers lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Mitteldeutscher BC will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#16) at home in the next round. Walter Tigers will play against BBC Bayreuth and will have a slim chance for a victory.
