Very expected game in Vienna where 11th ranked Basket 2K (3-14) was rolled over by fifth ranked Lions (11-6) 98-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Basket 2K's 22. They outrebounded Basket 2K 47-29 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Spanish center Antoni Vicens (204-90) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Luka Brajkovic (206-99) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Lions' coach Inaki Merino felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Michael Diesner (193-92) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Nikola Stevic (195-97) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Lions moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Raiders. Basket 2K lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Lions will face Rocks (#7) in Mattersburg in the next round. Basket 2K's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vienna to the arena Flames.
