Regular Season Round 12: Rivne - Kyiv Basket 65-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Rivne. 3rd ranked host Rivne (9-10) was smashed by top-ranked Kyiv Basket (18-0) 86-65. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Rivne was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyiv Basket forced 27 Rivne turnovers and had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international swingman Anna Olkhovyk (188-87, agency: Promotex) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and the former international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) supported her with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by forward Viktoriya Kasatkina (187-92) did not help to save the game for Rivne. Viktoriya Shmatova added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyiv Basket have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Newly promoted Kyiv Basket maintains first position with 18-0 record. Rivne at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Kyiv Basket will play against bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka (#8) in Kherson in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rivne will have a break next round.
