Important game to mention about took place in Timisoara. Third ranked Olimpia Brasov (10-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Timisoara (7-10) 80-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Timisoara. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Timisoara won third quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Olimpia Brasov won last quarter 23-22. They also forced 21 Timisoara turnovers. American guard Aliyyah Handford (175-94, college: St.John's) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Olimpia Brasov players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Dlesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson) with a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Olimpia Brasov maintains third position with 10-7 record having just twenty two point less than leader Sf.Gheorghe. Newly promoted Timisoara keeps the seventh place with ten games lost.
