The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Don Bosco Bamberg's (5-10) home loss to eighth ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (6-8) 62-66 on Saturday. Strangely Don Bosco Bamberg outrebounded Ladybaskets Wuerzburg 41-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!) and 4 assists and forward Rebekka Jaeger (178) who added 8 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Tori Waldner (196-93, college: Penn St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Jamiyah Bethune (173, college: Monmouth) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Rhein MB. Loser Don Bosco Bamberg keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg will face Krofdorf/Gleib. (#8) in Giessen in the next round. Don Bosco Bamberg will play on the road against Speyer / Schifferstadt in Dudenhofen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
