Very important is a home loss of first ranked Cukurova (8-9) against sixth ranked Botas (10-7) on Saturday night. Host Cukurova was defeated by Botas in a tough game in Mersin 78-83. Botas shot 60.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Botas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 28 points and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American center Kiah Stokes (190-93, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Erlana Larkins (185-86, college: N.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) added 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for the hosts. Botas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Besiktas. Cukurova lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team still keeps top position with nine games lost. Botas will face league's leader Canik Belediye in Samsun in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
