Regular Season Round 19: Herzogenaurach - Oberhaching 76-87

Regionalliga top team - Oberhaching (14-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Herzogenaurach (6-11) 87-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Herzogenaurach. Oberhaching had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Czech point guard John Boyer (185-88, college: Buffalo, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Moritz Wohlers (203-84, college: Mont.St.-Billings) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Boyer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Oberhaching players scored in double figures. Oberhaching's coach Mario Matic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Daniel Krause (194-88) answered with 25 points and 4 steals and forward Ben Gahlert (200) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Herzogenaurach. Oberhaching maintains first place in South-East with 14-3 record, which they share with Treuchtlingen and Gotha II. Herzogenaurach at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Oberhaching's next round opponent will be Topstar (#9) in Diedorf and are hoping to win another game. Herzogenaurach will play on the road against Bamberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
