Regular Season Round 17: Levski Lukoil - Balkan 63-86

An interesting game for Balkan (12-3) which played road game in Sofia against 3rd placed Levski 2014 (10-8). First ranked Balkan had an easy win 86-63. The game was mostly controlled by Balkan. Levski 2014 managed to win second period 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Balkan shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Balkan players scored in double figures. American power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-93, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points in the effort for Levski 2014. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Balkan have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Levski 2014 at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Balkan are looking forward to face league's second-placed Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski 2014's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Levski 2014.
