Leader CSU Sibiu delivered the fourteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Timba Timosoara (3-13) 106-82 in Timisoara. The game without a history. CSU Sibiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Marcel Davis (188-94, college: Utah Valley) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. CSU Sibiu's coach Dan Fleseriu felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mario Lazar (201-94) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American forward Andre Pierce (206, college: TCU) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for CSU Sibiu. They maintain first place with 14-4 record. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. CSU Sibiu will meet at home Phoenix Galati (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Timba Timosoara will play against Targu Mures and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
