There was an upset in Leverkusen where higher ranked SG BBZ Opladen (6-9) was defeated by eleventh ranked B.Loewen (4-10) 60-49 on Sunday. B.Loewen forced 20 SG BBZ Opladen turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Deeshyra Thomas (168-95, college: Weber St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 steals and forward Lindsay Fueg (178) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and center Mareike Nettersheim (186-83) scored 4 points and 14 rebounds. B.Loewen moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Braunschweig. Loser SG BBZ Opladen keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. B.Loewen will face higher ranked Baskets Grunberg (#8) in Gruenberg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
