Regular Season Round 20: Jena - Braunschweig 83-85

Date: February 4, 2018
A very interesting game took place in Jena. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Science City Jena (8-11) to thirteenth ranked Braunschweig (9-11) 85-83 in the fight for the twelfth place. Braunschweig made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Science City Jena helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) who scored that evening 26 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Anthony Morse (206-94, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Two Points) supported him with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 assists by guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) did not help to save the game for Science City Jena. Point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) added 18 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place. Science City Jena at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Braunschweig's next round opponent will be higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt and it may be quite challenging game. Science City Jena will play at home against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
