Second Stage Round 3: Akademik Sofia - Rilski 2 110-87

There was no surprise when Rilski 2 (0-3) was crushed on the road by Akademik Sofia (2-0) 110-87 on Sunday. Akademik Sofia shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Kostadin Lazarov (187-0) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Daniel Milchev (193-0) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Akademik Sofia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Miroslav Vasov (198-98) who recorded 26 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Kristiyan Kolev (194-99) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Akademik Sofia will face Chernomorets (#5) in Burgas in the next round. Rilski 2 will play at home against Vidabasket and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
