No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (13-5) outleveled on the road 12th ranked Mainz (5-13) 101-79 on Sunday. Saarlouis/Dillingen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mainz's 26 and made 24-of-25 free shots (96.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mainz 43-26 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mainz was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Bosnian-Croatian forward Ivan Skrobo (200-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Swedish forward Alan Bedirhanoglu (190-96) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Kewan Beebe (183, college: Geneseo St.) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) scored 17 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five Saarlouis/Dillingen and four Mainz players scored in double figures. Mainz's coach Christian Zander gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Saarlouis/Dillingen maintains fourth place in South-West with 13-5 record. Loser Mainz keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face league's second-placed Speyer on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mainz will play against Lich II (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
