Second Stage Round 3: CSKA - Chernomorets 87-41

An exciting game was played in Sofia. CSKA faced Chernomorets. Host CSKA (3-0) smashed guests from Burgas (1-2) 87-41. CSKA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 30. CSKA forced 22 Chernomorets turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Chernomorets' players. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Robert Georgiev (187-98) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Nikolay Stefanov (198-99) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four CSKA players scored in double figures. Swingman Delyan Kolev (190-99) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Emil Dimov (190-81) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CSKA's next round opponent will be Balkan 2 (#4) in Botevgrad. Chernomorets will play at home against Akademik Sofia and hope to win that game.
