We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Hopsi Polzela (6-11) defeated at home 8th ranked Tajfun (7-10) 85-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hopsi Polzela. Tajfun managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian-Bosnian Dejan Cup (202-83, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Andraz Rogelja (188-95, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 17 points. Hopsi Polzela's coach Bostjan Kuhar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian-Hungarian guard Marko Popadic (189-89) responded with 20 points and American point guard Corey Allen (185-92, college: S.Florida) scored 14 points. Four Tajfun players scored in double figures. Hopsi Polzela maintains ninth place with 6-11 record. Loser Tajfun keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Hopsi Polzela will meet bottom-ranked Zlatorog (#10) in the next round. Tajfun will play against Rogaska and hope to secure a win.
