The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Vilkmerge's (4-15) road loss to fifth ranked Fortuna (9-10) 72-78. It looked good early as Vilkmerge took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fortuna took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. They also forced 21 Vilkmerge turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Vilkmerge's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sandra Baliutaviciute (182-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Andra Gabalyte (179-80, college: Liberty) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Agneta Kisieliene (181-89, college: NC-Greensboro) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Martyna Petrenaite (181-98) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vilkmerge. Fortuna have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Vilkmerge lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Fortuna will play against Aistes-LSU (#5) in Kaunas in the next round. Vilkmerge will play at home against the league's second-placed Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
