Regular Season Round 18: Besiktas - Tofas 59-60

The most exciting game of round 18 in the BSL took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Besiktas (13-5) to second ranked Tofas (15-3) 60-59 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Besiktas. Strangely Besiktas outrebounded Tofas 33-0 including a 27- advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican-American swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. American point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. The former international center Sertac Sanli (211-91, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Josh Adams (188-93, college: Wyoming) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Besiktas. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tofas have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Besiktas at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost.
