Regular Season Round 17: Jahn Muenchen - Weiterstadt 51-73

The game between third ranked Jahn Muenchen (11-5) and fourth ranked Weiterstadt (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Jahn Muenchen was crushed by Weiterstadt in Muenchen 73-51. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Jahn Muenchen. American guard Ashley Engeln (171-92, college: Concordia Irvine) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Weiterstadt's coach Conrad Jackson felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Anne Delafosse (184-84) produced 23 points and Polish forward Mirela Damaschek (186-88) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Weiterstadt have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place in South with 10-5 record. Jahn Muenchen at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Weiterstadt are looking forward to face league's leader Eisvogel Freiburg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jahn Muenchen will have a break next round.
