Seventh-ranked Dnipro-2 (5-15) made lots of trouble for third ranked Kremen-2 (14-6) in Dnepropetrovsk on Sunday. The visitors from Kremenchuk managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 26-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kremen-2 made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Bogdan Bayda (193-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 32 points and 4 assists. Center Aleksandr Ryhljuk (208-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kremen-2's coach Evgen Fedorov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Illia Niemtsu (201-98, college: Vincennes Univ.) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Ihor Dubonenko (197-98) added 20 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Kremen-2 have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-6 record behind leader Dinamo. Dnipro-2 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Kremen-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dnipro-2 will play on the road against Kharkivski Sokoly (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
