Regular Season Round 21: Langen - Crailsheim II 66-69

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Crailsheim II (6-13) edged on the road higher ranked TV Langen (11-8) 69-66 on Saturday. They outrebounded TV Langen 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Croatian point guard Vladan Lazic (188-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Slovenian forward Dalibor Cevriz (196-87) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Crailsheim II players scored in double figures. Crailsheim II's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) answered with 17 points and point guard Maxim Schneider (184-92) added 16 points in the effort for TV Langen. Newly promoted Crailsheim II maintains twelfth place in South-West with 6-13 record. Loser TV Langen keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Crailsheim II will face Lich II (#13) at home in the next round. TV Langen will play against Kaiserslautern (#9) and hope to win that game.
