Regular Season Round 21: Kharkivski Sokoly - Dnipro-2 81-80

Seventh-ranked Dnipro-2 (5-16) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Kharkivski Sokoly (10-11) on Saturday. Kharkivski Sokoly managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 40-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for forward Roman Olkhovskyi (196-90) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Sergiy Olkhovikov (187-91) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Illia Niemtsu (201-98, college: Vincennes Univ.) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Stanislav Masalskiy (190-95) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dnipro-2. Four Dnipro-2 players scored in double figures. Dnipro-2's coach Dmytro Markov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Kharkivski Sokoly maintains fifth place with 10-11 record. Dnipro-2 lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Kharkivski Sokoly are again looking forward to face Dnipro-2 (#7) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round. Dnipro-2 will have a break next round.
