There was no surprise in Izmir where 16th ranked Ferko Ilgaz (3-16) was crushed by eighth ranked Urla BLD (11-7) 70-51 on Sunday. Urla BLD dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ferko Ilgaz's 24. They outrebounded Ferko Ilgaz 51-26 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Urla BLD looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Cierra Robertson-Warren (193-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and forward Ayse Akinci (175-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals. The best for the losing side was American forward Azia Capri Bishop (190-93, college: Kentucky) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and forward Dilan Celik (-94) scored 13 points. Ferko Ilgaz's coach Nihat Saka rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Urla BLD moved-up to seventh place. Ferko Ilgaz lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Urla BLD will meet Mersin Uni (#10) on the road in the next round. Ferko Ilgaz will play against Fenerbahce G. (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
