An interesting game was played in Funchal where Boa Viagem (#7) won against host CAB Madeira (#4) 92-87 on Sunday evening. Boa Viagem made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Ugandan forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Sara Ressurreicao (170-93) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Boa Viagem's coach Roberto Simoes allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was international power forward Rosinha Rosario (182-89, college: Gulf Coast CC) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marta Bravo (180-85) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Boa Viagem and five CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. Boa Viagem (9-9) moved-up to sixth place. Loser CAB Madeira dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Boa Viagem will meet at home Ovarense (#10) in the next round. CAB Madeira will play against Academico FC (#11) in Porto and hope to secure a win.
