There was no surprise when 5th ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (10-7) were defeated on the road by second ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (14-4) 89-73 on Sunday. TSV 1880 Wasserburg forced 19 TH Wohnbau Angels turnovers. American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and French forward Margaux Galliou-Loko (183-93) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Georg Eichler used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) with 22 points and Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-4 record behind leader Keltern. Loser TH Wohnbau Angels dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will meet Hannover (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against Herner TC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
