The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (#2) and Aistes-LSU (#4). Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (16-3) smashed visiting Aistes-LSU (9-11) by 23 points 92-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aistes-LSU. The game without a history. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aistes-LSU's 38 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Aistes-LSU's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Livija Sakeviciute (188-99) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Rasa Knyzaite (172-98) who added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Monika Petrauskaite (182-92) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Karolina Kazociunaite (179-99) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Suduva. Aistes-LSU at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas is looking forward to face Kibirkstis (#3) in Vilnius in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aistes-LSU will play at home against Vilkmerge and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
