Regular Season Round 24: Siauliai-Univ. - Suduva 45-90

LMKL top team - Suduva (16-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Siauliai-Univ. (0-20) 90-45. It looked good early as Siauliai-Univ. took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Suduva had a 26-6 second period charge getting the lead and Siauliai-Univ. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 45-90. Suduva dominated on the defensive end, holding Siauliai-Univ. to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai-Univ.'s 34. They outrebounded Siauliai-Univ. 48-33 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Suduva players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Siauliai-Univ.'s players. The winners were led by American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ligita Tamutyte (176-99) supported her with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Suduva players scored in double figures. Suduva's coach Tadas Stankevicius felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by Brigita Sinickaite (175-1) did not help to save the game for Siauliai-Univ.. Forward Urte Bukauskaite (178-94) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-3 record, which they share with Sirenos. Siauliai-Univ. at the other side still closes the standings. Suduva will play against Fortuna (#5) in Klaipeda in the next round. Siauliai-Univ. will have a break next round.
