The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Acibadem (#7) and Bakirkoy (#8). Acibadem (14-9) crushed visiting Bakirkoy (12-11) by 23 points 98-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bakirkoy. They outrebounded Bakirkoy 42-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Acibadem looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Bakirkoy's players. Forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 7 rebounds. American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Manny Atkins (201-91, college: Georgia St.) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian guard Marek Klassen (185-92, college: Point Loma) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Bakirkoy. Five Acibadem and four Bakirkoy players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Acibadem moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bandirma Kir. Bakirkoy at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Acibadem is looking forward to face Karesi Spor (#9) in the next round. Bakirkoy will play against Selcuklu and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
